At mirus we develop person centred approaches to include supporting each individual to make decisions. These can be day to day decisions, such as, what to eat and what to wear, or bigger life decisions for example, where to live, to get a job.
We work within legal principles which set out that everyone has capacity to make decisions. Where people have been assessed as not being able to make a decisions we work with the person and others who know them well (family, friends, professionals) to take actions in their ‘best interest’. We develop decision making profiles with each person which sets out the support they need.
