mirus stars awards

Celebrate great people and achievements at our mirus stars awards

Celebrate great people and amazing achievements.

mirus stars is connected to our monthly mirus moments nominations.  Each time you nominate someone for a mirus moment, they are automatically nominated for our mirus stars awards.

Our finalists have been chosen everyone who attended our mirus stars pre-awards parties in Cardiff and Swansea. Our mirus stars awards ceremony will take place later this year – more information will be announced soon!

What is a mirus moment?

A mirus moment is when someone has done something extra special.

You fill out an online form to recognise someone who has done something great. Filling out the form will nominate them for a ‘mirus moment’ and it is how we find out who has done something amazing so that we can celebrate them.

Nominate online at this link: bit.ly/mirusmoments

How do we celebrate?

People supported and staff members can both win prizes through mirus moments.

Other people connected with mirus, such as family members, volunteers, other organisations and people from the community can be recognised on our social media and our website.

Each month representatives from each region will use what you’ve said in your nomination form to pick three people supported and three staff members to win a prize. So remember to include as much detail as possible about the amazing thing the person you’re nominating has done.

Every person supported and staff member who is nominated for mirus moments is also nominated for our annual mirus stars awards.

Who can nominate and be nominated?

You can nominate and be nominated by any person who is connected with mirus, including:

  • mirus staff members
  • People mirus support
  • Families
  • Volunteers
  • People from the community
  • People from other organisations

Who can win prizes?

  • mirus staff members
  • People mirus support

How are mirus stars winners chosen?

  • First your nominations are collected and anonymised – so that people are only chosen to go forward based on the reasons they were nominated
  • Next, a panel of mirus stars representatives create a short list for South-East-Wales and a short list for South-West Wales. We call this list our semi-finalists.
  • At our pre-awards parties YOU vote for the nominations that you think deserve to go forward to our mirus stars awards. These are our finalists.
  • Our panel of mirus stars representatives choose the winning nominations from the finalists you selected at our pre-awards parties.
  • We celebrate our winners and runners up at our mirus stars awards ceremony.

What are the categories?

Our mirus moments and mirus stars categories are based on our values, which are; Together, Respectful, Responsible, Empowering and Courageous.
