Respite and Short Breaks

Everyone needs a break every now and again and carers are no exception. The mirus respite and short breaks services give carers some time to themselves, while their loved ones get to enjoy a some time doing the things they love. We like to think of it as a time for everyone to recharge, refresh and enjoy themselves!

mirus respite and short breaks services are built around the needs of each carer and the interests of the person they care for. We can provide respite / short breaks support in the family home, or at one of our residential respite houses in Cardiff. Alternatively, carers may want their loved one to be supported to go on holiday or a short break in the UK or abroad; we work with the carer and their loved one to design and plan their break as well as providing the support the person needs while on holiday to have a great time!

We support people to try a variety of social activities, develop friendships, learn independent living skills, try out new and continue existing hobbies, and have a break themselves. Carers are able to take a break and recharge their batteries, or deal with unexpected life events knowing that their loved one is safe and enjoying themselves with our friendly staff and community networks.
