inclusive communication
Communication is considered key to support self expression which leads to a better quality of life for all of us. It helps to increase independence and take increased control.
mirus works closely with speech and language therapists and has experienced managers who deliver a foundation program of ‘Inclusive Communication’ to staff. We develop person centred communication plans which include attention to speech, body language, facial expression, using touch, use of picture, photos, symbols and sign language. For some people we support them to use electronic communicate aids. When there are other people involved with the person, we share approaches.
