Bhikhu’s birthday bash!

Bhikhu is a much-loved regular at our respite service in Cardiff, and when his carer asked us to organise a surprise birthday party for his 60th, the staff team at mirus couldn’t wait to get involved.

The mirus respite team worked together to organise a surprise party that they were sure Bhikhu would love. They wrote a guest list that included lots of people Bhikhu enjoys spending time with, made a list of all the essential birthday items, and helped the guests to organise transport and support so that they could attend his big day.

Many of the people who were on the guest list are also regular users of our respite service, and they worked together to help prepare for the party, by blowing up balloons, decorating the house with banners, and making sure everyone had a party hat!

Everyone loved the party, and got involved with the lively party games with lots of laughter and chatter. Bhikhu was surprised and thrilled to see the amount of family, friends and mirus staff that had got together, and put so much effort in to making his big day very special.

Bhikhu’s carer told us that he couldn’t stop talking about how much fun he had at the party, and that he was thrilled with the celebration.

Happy birthday Bhikhu!
