Christine recently moved into her new home at Park Road. At first, she found the move difficult as it was a big change from what she was used to.
Since then, Christine has overcome lots of barriers and is really starting to flourish in her new home. She has made new friends and got to know new members of her support team. She can often be found enjoying a chat and a cuppa in the communal area each morning.
Christine has taken part in group activities and events, tried new experiences and pushed herself outside her comfort zone with her new friends. She has also been learning new skills, including cooking, to help her become more independent.
Christine has been incredibly courageous as she starts this new chapter, and it’s fantastic to see her growing in confidence.

Scott recently had his manual handling equipment serviced by TPE. In the past, he was happy to let team members speak with the engineers, but this time Scott took the initiative to speak with the engineer himself.
He explained any areas of concern and even gave the engineer one of his homemade Rice Krispie cakes to say thank you!
Scott was really proud of himself after the interaction, and so were his support team. It was great to see him speaking up and taking the lead.

Paul and Bill have had an exciting few months settling into their temporary home.
This month, First Choice Housing Association asked them to put on their decorating hats and help make some important decisions about the colours and styles for their new home.
Paul and Bill worked together, listened to each other and shared their views with the team. First Choice agree that they’ve done a fantastic job, and we can’t wait to see their choices brought to life when they move back home!

Vickie has built a fantastic working relationship with the administrator of HCF funding and, so far, has successfully secured £153,000 of additional funding for the Gwent region.
And she’s not finished yet!
This is a fantastic achievement and will make a real difference to the lives of the people we support across Gwent. Thank you, Vickie, for all your hard work and for going above and beyond.

This month, Sam received two nominations:
Sam organised a charity afternoon tea to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and invited people supported from services across Gwent.
The event was a great success, bringing people together at Kennard Court to enjoy some delicious food, meet new people and spend time together.
Thank you for helping to bring people together and creating such a lovely afternoon! A special shout out to Rebecca, who helped Sam set up and make the day happen.

A big well done to Geraint, who helped AJ achieve one of his goals by supporting him to spend time in the garden.
Until recently, team members had only been able to support AJ as far as the doorway. We knew he was missing out on enjoying the sunshine and spending time with his co-tenants and team members, as he had enjoyed doing in the past.
On 17 July, Geraint supported AJ to go into the garden for the first time in many years. Although the garden had caused AJ some anxiety in recent years, Geraint knew how much he had enjoyed spending time there before.
AJ was thrilled to be back outside and has since enjoyed more time in the garden, including singing along to songs at the recent BBQ at Coed Parc.
