Mirus Moments July winners text banner

Congratulations to all of our winners and nominees for July’s Mirus Moments.

Mackenzie F Winner Mackenzie

Supported in Cardiff

Mackenzie has been working really hard for the past year to learn how to administer his own medication, including checking the stock and signing his own MARs.

This month he has passed the community nurse assessment & is able to administer his own medication. This was one of his goals for his annual review.

We are all extremely proud of him

Donna Chiffi Winner Donna

Team member in Swansea

I would like to nominate Donna in recognition of her exceptional commitment, proactive approach, and dedication to ensuring the people we support live in safe, suitable, and person-centred homes.

Donna consistently demonstrates a proactive approach to identifying housing concerns, repairs, and maintenance issues. Her communication is outstanding, always being clear, detailed, and solution-focused. She provides comprehensive information when raising concerns, including relevant supporting documentation and photographs, and ensures that all appropriate contacts are included from the outset to help achieve timely resolutions.

Donna is confident in seeking advice and clarification when required and is always willing to learn more about processes and best practice. Importantly, she does not wait for problems to escalate; she takes immediate action to address issues while continuing to develop her knowledge and understanding. Her approach ensures that concerns are resolved efficiently and effectively.

The health, safety, and wellbeing of the people we support are at the heart of everything Donna does. She works tirelessly to ensure that people have homes that are safe, suitable, and tailored to meet their wants and needs. She is passionate about driving improvements and supporting people to understand their responsibilities and obligations under their occupancy agreements, helping them to sustain positive tenancy outcomes.

Donna is also a strong advocate for the people she supports. She is not afraid to ask questions, challenge where necessary, or push for the resources and actions required to ensure the best possible outcomes. Her determination, professionalism, and person-centred approach make a significant difference to the lives of the people we support and make her highly deserving of this nomination.

Monica Costa Winner monica

Team member in Cardiff

We often recognise and celebrate the incredible work of our frontline teams, but it’s equally important to acknowledge the contribution made by those in Senior roles who help create the conditions for others to succeed.

Monica is a steady, dependable and safe pair of hands across both the area and wider region. Over the last two years in particular, she has been a solid foundation for Cardiff, providing consistency, support and reassurance through challenges and change.

Monica’s collaborative approach, professionalism and commitment to working alongside managers has helped teams work well together and achieve positive outcomes. She is always approachable, supportive and focused on finding solutions, making a real difference to those around her.

Thank you, Monica, for your dedication, leadership and the positive impact you continue to have across Mirus. It is very much appreciated.

Steven James winner steven

Steve has worked with Mackenzie Foley for the past year in encouraging and supporting him to be able to administer his own medication.

Last month Mackenzie passed the assessment and is now able to do his own medication.

Team special mention

Finance Team, Central Services

I just want to say a huge thank you to the finance team. Leanne, Helen and Rachael quickly responded to my many requests during a recent move in service. They were a huge help during the transition.
