Claire Thomas Lloyd
Team member in Brecon
Claire is a team manager in Brecon and consistently supports managers in other services in the region by taking on additional shifts. Her commitment, flexibility and willingness to step in wherever needed have made a real difference. We are incredibly grateful for everything Claire has done and continue to appreciate her hard work and support.
Liz Thomas
Team member in Powys
Liz has been kind, helpful and supportive with my learning and development as a manager, and has encouraged and helped me to improve my work and knowledge at Mirus.
Emily Lucas
Team member in Gwent
Since we opened our new service in Gwent, Emily has been excellent at guiding the team in positive risk taking. The people we support are living life to the full, and have had many previous restrictions lifted, as Emily has taken the time to review and make changes in their care plans. Emily’s knowledge in positive behaviour support and passion for making a positive impact in the lives of those she supports is obvious, when you see the great things she has supported people to achieve.
Andreya R
Supported by Mirus in Swansea
Andreya has shown strong motivation to learn new skills and increase her independence. She independently taught herself to make ribbon flowers by watching YouTube tutorial videos. Andreya confidently shared her work with members of her Tuesday club, where she sold several of her creations. Due to the positive feedback she received, she was invited to host a craft session the following week, during which she successfully taught others how to make ribbon flowers, encouraging other people to be creative and try new things.
Andreya demonstrated further independence by asking staff to support her to access local craft shops to source her own materials. She continues to work hard on producing more flowers for her home, showing creativity, confidence, and growing independence in managing her interests and skills.
Chanel R
Supported by Mirus in Neath Port Talbot
Chanel has been working extremely hard on her strength and transfer techniques, aiming to complete at least one transfer each day as independently as possible.
Chanel has surpassed her goal, and is now able to complete almost all of her daily transfers independently, which she is extremely proud of.
Achieving this goal has helped Chanel to build her confidence, and become more independent.
Sian W
Supported by Mirus in Swansea
Sian set herself a goal to make her flat feel more homely. Working closely together with her support team members, Sian has made some really positive changes and has remained fully committed to achieving her goal.
