Mirus Moments winners: March 2026

Congratulations to our incredible Team Members and people supported by Mirus who have shown that they really live our values during the month of March.

Team member winners

Chris winner certificateChris Rees, Central Services

Chris consistently demonstrates a fantastic team spirit and a real commitment to supporting others. When we have been short of a trainer, Chris has always stepped forward without hesitation to help cover sessions and ensure that training continues to run smoothly. His willingness to adapt and support the team whenever needed makes a huge difference.

Chris is someone we can always rely on. No matter how busy he is, he approaches every request with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help.

Chris’s readiness to step in and support the wider team does not go unnoticed. His contribution helps ensure that team members continue to receive the training and guidance they need, and his commitment makes a real and lasting impact.

Nia winner certificate Nia Matthews, Central Services

Nia took it upon herself to find a practical solution to a problem another team member was facing, arranging everything herself and making sure that support was in place quickly.

This thoughtful and proactive approach made an immediate difference to the team member, showing Nia’s willingness to go out of her way to support others.

Mary winner certificateMary Jones, Ystradgynlais

Mary has shown a strong commitment to supporting someone to be in control of their own journey since moving to her new service. From the outset, Mary took time to understand what mattered to the person, and showed initiative in working towards these outcomes, and finding ways to build on them even more.

When the person Mary supports expressed a wish to travel by train, Mary supported this to become a reality, making sure it was a positive and meaningful experience. She then built on this by encouraging further travel opportunities, adapting 1:1 support times to create the flexibility needed to make this possible.

Mary also introduced a created and person-centred way of tracking progress, supporting the person to keep a diary with reflections, photographs and artwork. This approach makes progress meaningful and visible, and keeps the person actively involved.

People supported by Mirus winners

Jason winner certificate Jason D, Swansea

Jason is an active and valued part of his local community, regularly volunteering for charities and looking for ways to help others. He is outgoing and enjoys spending time with family, friends and people in his community.

His helpful nature shows in his everyday actions, from supporting neighbours to helping with practical tasks, even during the colder months when this can be more challenging.

Jason’s willingness to get involved and support those around hin shows the positive role he plays within his community.

Kim winner certificateKim W, Swansea

Kim brings a positive presence to those around her. She builds strong relationships, enjoys sharing a laugh and a joke, and helps create a welcoming and supportive environment for people where she lives.

Kim connects well with others and is seen as a valued member of her community, and her approach and outlook has a positive impact on everyone around her.

She is also committed to making positive changes in her own life, showing determination and focus.

Gary winner certificateGary P, Cardiff

Gary made the decision to move to a new home following changes in his sight. After more than 20 years in his previous home, where he had built strong relationships with his house mates and Mirus Team members, making the choice to find a more suitable place to live was a courageous decision.

Despite the challenges of moving, Gary approached the change positively and took it in his stride. Now that he has moved he has settled in well, quickly making his new space his own and adapting to his new home. Gary’s courageous approach to change shows resilience and a clear focus on what matters for his future.
