Our refreshed values – what’s next?
At the end of 2019 we invited everyone connected with mirus to take part in the process of refreshing our values.
Keep up to date with our latest news and positive stories from staff, volunteers and people supported. Follow us on social media @miruswales for even more updates!

Over the past few months we have tried new ways of working to ensure that our services continue to empower people to have the fullest possible lives.
Kathy lives in Brecon and is supported by mirus keyworker Rebecca. She has recently started using Widgit Writer on her iPad, which allows Kathy and her support workers to create symbol-supported documents to communicate her thoughts, feelings and needs more effectively.
We recognise the value in rewarding a job well done, and our new initiative ‘mirus Moments’ gives staff and people we support the opportunity to thank staff for their input.
Laura can find new situations challenging, however with the support of mirus, she secured a volunteer position at a children’s play scheme in her local community.
We currently have ten members of staff trained as champions, who promote openness about mental health throughout the organisation.
