Paws & Pals members are trying new activities together

After a break due to Covid-19 Paws & Pals have relaunched their popular dog walking group, and have seen a huge increase in new members.

Every Tuesday Paws & Pals group members walk the Aberystwyth seafront with their dogs. The walking group is a great opportunity for people to get out and about in their local community, meet new people and build strong friendships.

mirus staff said:

“We invited original members of the Paws & Pals walking group to a video meeting. Everyone was keen to get the dog walking group back up and running again and helped to grow it’s membership by inviting new people to join. It worked really well, and now the group is bigger than ever!”

So far, the group have spent lots of evenings with their furry companions at the promenade where they have eaten lots of ice cream and watched countless sunsets together. The new members forged new friendships very quickly, and existing members found their confidence to speak to new people increased.

Since Paws & Pals returned the group have expanded what they do, and together they have planned lots of different types of activities for members to get involved with.

mirus staff said:

“The group has grown beyond just dog walking. People can get involved with all sorts of activities, like barbecues, film nights and meals out. They have recently had their first night out at the pub followed by a club where they all danced.”

Everyone who attended found the night out lots of  fun. People were able to really let their hair down and enjoy a few drinks surrounded by new and old friends who they met through a shared love of dog walking.

The extra activities have been such a success that the group are now working together to plan even more new things to do in future.
