We’re a Disability Confident employer
Mirus has achieved Disability Confident Committed status, recognising our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where disability is not a barrier to employment or career development.
At Mirus, we know first-hand the difference that high-quality, properly funded support makes in people’s lives. But right now, the entire social care sector is facing unsustainable financial pressures.
The increase in National Insurance contributions and the Real Living Wage should be positive developments for the workforce—but without the necessary funding to support them, providers are being forced into impossible positions.
As a not-for-profit provider employing 800 people, Mirus faces increased costs of £1.6 million next year to cover of the National Insurance increase and the Real Living Wage rise.
We stand in full support of this demonstration, which will start at 10:30 AM at Church House behind Westminster Abbey and march to Parliament Square Garden to demand real action from policymakers.
To show our support, Sara Davies, our Director of Support, will be attending the protest on behalf of Mirus, standing alongside others in the sector to call for urgent action.
Providers Unite is calling for:
We urge everyone who cares about social care—providers, support workers, families, and the people who rely on these services—to support this movement.
