Respite are celebrating Diwali

Rekha and Bhikhu have both been supported by mirus CCX service and Respite for many years. Both services are able to work closely together to ensure that Rekha and Bhikhu get the best possible support at all times.

The two are extremely popular and outgoing. When they stay at Respite in particular they get along really well both with staff and with other people attending Respite.

Over the years they have made some great friends at Respite and their stays are usually timed to take place at the same time as their friends.

As part of their heritage, Rekha and Bhikhu celebrate the Hindu festival of Diwali, also known as the festival of lights.

Last year they asked that mirus respite staff support them to attend the festival, which they were honoured to do.

Everyone had a wonderful day at the temple, with Rekha and Bhikhu looking very smart indeed. They loved showing staff around the beautifully decorated temple and introducing them to family and friends.

With the help of photos taken during their day at the temple, Rekha and Bhikhu enjoyed explaining the traditions of Diwali to everyone who was staying at Respite.
