We’re a Disability Confident employer

Disability Confident committed logo, on top of a faint blue and purple gradient background. In the bottom left corner there is a graphic icon of a pink party popper, which has lines, stars and dots exploding out of it. You can faintly see the three arc lines of the Mirus logo in white in the background.

Mirus has achieved Disability Confident Committed status through the UK Government’s scheme, recognising our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where disability is not a barrier to employment or career development.

The Disability Confident scheme aims to support more people with disabilities into employment and reduce the employment gap. It also supports employers like Mirus to make the most out of the skills, talents and experiences that diversity brings to the workplace.

As part of the process, our HR team reviewed how we support team members with a disability or long-term health conditions, including how we remove barriers, provide reasonable adjustments, and make our recruitment and development opportunities as inclusive as possible.

Being Disability Confident Committed means we have made a commitment to five key areas:

  • Making our recruitment process inclusive and accessible
  • Communicating and promoting our vacancies to people with a disability
  • Offering an interview to disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role
  • Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments
  • Supporting team members who acquire a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work

Sian Morris, Shared Services Lead, said:

“This achievement directly supports our People Strategy by strengthening our commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. It also reinforces our ambition to build a diverse workforce where individual skills, talents and experiences are valued and enable our people to reach their full potential.”

Our status is in place until 2029. This recognises the work we have already done and gives us a clear framework to continue improving how we support existing and future team members with disabilities or long-term health conditions across Mirus.
