Supported independent living is all about supporting people to live as independently as possible in their community.
We support people living in their own homes; sometimes on their own, sometimes with a husband, wife or partner, and sometimes with family or friends.
Our aim is to support people to have voice, choice and control within their lives.
Support services shaped by the people who use them
We work together with the people we support, their families, friends and other community members to create support plans that work each person. These plans maximise independence, and focus on supporting the person to do the things they love, achieve their goals and live good lives.
Flexible support
Our support is flexible, and the amount we provide is shaped by what people want and need. Some people may only want a few hours of support per week, whilst others may need 24 hour support.
The support we provide often includes things like:
- Help with benefits
- Managing finances
- Signposting help for day to day repairs and maintenance
- Support to develop independent living skills
- Help with accessing training or work placements
- Support to contact other agencies and organisations, such as GPs, landlords and social services.
Our communities
We know that people have better lives when they feel part of their local community – and the community benefits too!
We work with others to build networks that encourage people to explore opportunities, discover new interests, develop relationships and enhance their independence.
