Respite and short breaks

It’s important that both the carer, and the person they care for can have a good break.

Our respite and short breaks support services are built around the needs of each carer and the interests of the person they care for.

We can provide respite and short breaks in the family home, or at one of our two comfortable and inviting houses in Cardiff.

People can stay in their own private bedroom, and enjoy spending time in communal spaces or in the community with the friends they make during their stay.

People who stay will us will still be able to attend all of their usual activities, as well as get involved in a wide range of new ones that they can choose.

We support people to try a variety of different activities, develop friendships, learn independent living skills and try out new hobbies – so this option is perfect for those who want to trial more independent living, in a safe and supportive environment.

Holidays away

People can choose to be supported to go on a holiday in the UK, and we can support people with or without their carer.

Holidays away from our respite houses take a little more planning, but we can help people design their perfect trip.

Skills workshops

Whether people want to learn new skills, or improve the skills they already have, our workshops can help people to increase their independence and knowledge. Workshops are held in our respite houses in Cardiff, and are focused on independent living skills, cooking and baking, IT skills and online shopping.
