Our name mirus means ‘wonderful’ and ‘extraordinary’, which is exactly how we view our staff, services, and the people we support.
We first became a registered charity in 1985 under the name Opportunity Housing Trust. This name originated from the critical need for supported housing for those who lived in long-stay hospitals, or at home with ageing parents.
Today, our core business has developed into providing person-centred support services to those with a disability, and we changed our name to mirus to better reflect our organisation’s purpose.
